WCO Teams event in at the ACL Canada Open

The WCO Teams event at the ACL Canada Open in Niagara Falls, Ontrario Canada on January 26, 2024 featured a sold out field of 32 teams with 24 Canadian teams and 8 US teams. The Canadian team of Bernie Portolesi (ACL Pro), Connor Weiss (ACL Pro), Dave Dunlop, Glen McNutt, Tim Santsche and Dean Lang won the Canadian bracket for the second year in a row. The strong Canadian team has it’s eyes set at the WCO World Cup later this year in Germany. After taking 3rd place in Paris, they are determined to get into this year’s final.

Favorites do not disappoint

On the American side, Jimmy Youmans (ACL Pro), Brady Foster (ACL Pro), Steve DeRycke, Nathan Metott, Kaden Blencowe and Brandon Earls won their bracket. Overall a very strong team with several players that participated before in a WCO Teams event. Both Jimmy and Brady have international experience after playing in multiple European events. The team performed strongly and made it into the finals to play the Canadian team.

Favorites do not disappoint

In a rematch of last year’s final, the American team was simply too strong for the Canadians. After winning the World Cup in Paris, the US team shows they are still the team to beat. Trier, Germany, will be the next opportunity for the other countries to try to beat Team USA.
